Days 1 & 2

1
Away in a Manger

{a manger and baby Jesus}
I cut a doll pin for the babe, stitched a square of felt around him, and drew a little face. (As if the picture itself isn't self explanatory.)

The bed of hay is a cut and fringed rectangle piece of felt shoved in this little wreath I found with the Christmas Decorations.

2
Go Tell it on the Mountain

{a mountain, of course}

The little mountain is made with felt cut into mountain shapes, stitched together with a blanket stitch, stuffed, and stitched some more.

those are awesome. how are you full of so many amazing ideas (and then actually do them)? your advent calendar reminds me of the pottery barn's felt advent calendar I have been coveting. I'd love to see the finished product!

How cute! May I "borrow" this idea some year? I just bought a little wool felt this fall, and am loving looking at many cool ideas. In response to your other post, we make homemade nativities every year to celebrate. This year we are keeping them very simple: sculpy tree ornaments if we have time and the baby hasn't come, and coloring book pages if he has. :)

I love this ornament. The choir I'm in sang this song at our Christmas concert. I belted it out in the best gospel-choir voice I could.
